For a century, West Portal Elementary School and the West Portal Avenue merchant corridor have built a vibrant community. Today, we celebrate the shared history, local businesses, and generations of families that make our neighborhood so special.

Event Schedule & Highlights

    • 9:30 - 10 am BookShop West Portal Courtyard Storytime.

    • 11-3 Scavenger Hunt (start at the library)

    • 11-1 Touch A Truck at 174 West Portal Av - Real Firetruck and firefighters. Climb in and honk the horn!

    • 11:00 Press event

    • 12-2 Cable Car rides

    • Musical acts in the Bookshop West Portal courtyard

The celebration takes place all along West Portal Avenue. The Scavenger Hunt starts outside the library.
- Muni: The easiest way to get here! Take the K, M, or L lines directly to West Portal Station.
- Parking: Street parking is limited. We highly encourage walking, biking, or taking public transit.
