About the West Portal Parents Club
The mission of the West Portal Parents Club (WPPC) is to promote and enrich the quality of education; to develop a closer connection between school, home, and community; and to raise funds for school programs.
Every parent and guardian of a student who attends West Portal Elementary School is automatically a member of the Parents Club. Parents and guardians are encouraged to participate in and even volunteer to help with all Parent Club functions. We strive to be inclusive, and have a wide range of volunteering and fundraising opportunities. There is something for everyone and we as a community are stronger if more people are involved.
The West Portal Parents Club holds one meeting per month (usually 6pm on the first Thursday of the month, check the online calendar for exact dates). Every other month is an 'All School" parent club meeting or a "Board" only meeting (where all parents are welcome to attend). The five All School meetings each year will have a topic such as Safety, Wellness, etc. At the four Board meetings per year, the school's Board of Directors will handle school business and conduct votes as necessary. All parents are welcome to attend and participate in discussion, but only Board of Directors can vote. Childcare (for those over three years of age) is provided for all meetings.
